Raku is a Japanese firing process using post firing reduction. It is a quick firing process and brings instant gratification making it a fun and exciting way to begin our summer activities.

4 weeks; Tuesday evenings: 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31
6:30 pm – 9 pm
Location: The ESAI Campus,
10500 Isabelle Rd.
Open to all levels of experience
Fee: $150.00, limited to 10 participants
Fee includes 25 lbs. of clay, instruction, bisque and glaze firings.
Week one: introduction to hand-building and wheel throwing techniques.
Week two: glazing pieces from week one and continue making new pieces.
Week three: glazing of pieces for next firing and First Raku firing.
For firing, students must wear long sleeves, long pants, no open toed shoes, hair must be tied back.
Week four: Last Raku firing
