New site each week in picturesque parts of Boulder County
Cost $300 Minimum of 4 participants, maximum 12
Freedom to create art your way and connect with nature, community, and yourself through this beginner plein air watercolor painting experience. If you enjoy the company of others balanced with time alone to breathe, paint, and ground while experiencing and aiming to capture the sun’s light as it casts its beauty on the varying landscapes of the prairies, foothills, gardens, waterscapes, and peaks as viewed from various picturesque parts of Boulder County, then this class is for you. We will meet for five consecutive weeks at a new site for some plein air painting experiences. We will work with the values of pigments, power of sunlight, color washes, blending, mixing, simplifying overall scenery, and using an artist’s eye to look for shapes. Suzi will share simple techniques to help you create your own art inspired by nature.
All students receive a small slide frame viewer and a tennis wristband to clean one’s brush. Bring your own travel painting set or order a watercolor kit through Suzi with a minimum of one week’s notice. Suzi will provide a list of supplies to put together your own kit and other class information upon enrollment.
